POSTINI RECOGNIZED AS TOP SECURITY VENDOR IN MAJOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION STUDY FROM THEINFOPRO
Corporate Users Rated Postini as The Top Vendor; Postini Dramatically Outpaced Larger, Established Security Players
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., September 28, 2005 — Postini, the global leader in integrated message management, today announced it has been rated as the top information security vendor in a customer satisfaction study of corporate users and information security professionals from North American Fortune 1000 enterprises. Postini dramatically outpaced all of the information security companies in the study, including several high-profile and established security brands.
Conducted by TheInfoPro, a leading supplier of market intelligence for the information technology industry, the study found that customers rate Postini higher than other network security vendors in most categories, including overall product performance, corporate performance and customer fulfillment. Customers also rated Postini as excellent for its strategic vision and corporate positioning. When asked if they were considering other vendors, all of Postini's customers interviewed reported that they were not — a rarity in the study.
"Postini's customers rate them as excellent for almost all metrics gathered in the study, positioning Postini as the lead vendor of Network Application Security products when it comes to customer satisfaction," said Henry D. Nisenbaum, Managing Director for Information Security Research at TheInfoPro. "It is certainly no surprise, then, for us to find that their customers are not considering alternatives. In fact we found the opposite to be true, as enterprises using other solutions are considering switching to Postini."

In addition to ranking as a zero on the vulnerability index for the potential to lose customers, Postini's products were also rated as excellent in the following categories: Product quality, product performance, product reliability, and product line interoperability. Furthermore, customers rated Postini's sales force and ease of doing business as excellent as well. No other company in this study scored as well as Postini in these combined categories.
About TheInfoPro's Information Security Study
The study's results are based on direct feedback from interviews with 175 information security professionals from North American Fortune 1000 enterprises on the key issues, hot new security technologies, spending plans, vendor ratings and projects in 2005, 2006 and beyond. TheInfoPro's methodology was based on the principle of experts interviewing experts. The company's interviewers were current and former IT managers and executives who asked open-ended questions, enabling TheInfoPro to gain an excellent understanding of users' issues and their decision-making process. About 90 percent of the interviews were done over the telephone and 10 percent were in person. Interviews were conducted from April through June 2005.
